Meet the Team: Arran Gravestock
In this edition of meet the team, we introduce Arran Gravestock, the latest addition to the development team. Arran brightens up the office with his loud t-shirts and the installation of an IoT activated bubble machine #PHPbubbles. Without further ado let’s get to the good stuff and ask him some questions.
Explain what you do Arran:
As a fresh face at the office, my role is a Junior Frontend Developer. My primary stack of frontend technologies is JavaScript & Vue.js.
What did you do before ProdPad?
I recently graduated in Computer Science from Brighton University, so this is my first job in the field. In the small period before I joined ProdPad and finished university, I worked on a variety of small freelance and personal projects. I’m always looking at new technologies.
What makes you excited to work at ProdPad?
There are continually changes going on and there’s always something fun and awesome to work on that challenges you. I really have a great opportunity as a junior to find out what I am good at and where I can improve as a developer.
Favourite productivity app?
Spotify! Music puts me in the zone.
Favourite time-wasting app?
Reddit. I don’t know what I did on the internet before it. Rarepuppers, KeanuBeingAwesome & hiphopheads are my top 3 subs.
Most famous person you’ve ever met?
Spending three years in Brighton, surprisingly I’ve not met anyone super famous. The most famous person I’ve seen is Pewdiepie (most subscribed person on YouTube…) – and I didn’t even meet him! I was behind him in the queue at co-op and I didn’t want to lose my place in the queue.
Favourite thing about working remotely?
Solely focusing on the work. It’s only me and the work in the room. I’m so productive but it drives me insane slowly, I can’t do it without getting Cabin Fever.
Puppies or kittens?
Puppies; a man’s best friend. They’re loyal.
Any hobbies?
I’m a really competitive gamer. If I play a game I go hard. At the moment I can’t stop playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. I’m not addicted – I can stop anytime, I just don’t want to.
Fun fact about you?
*gore warning* When I was about 8 years old, my older brother was pushing me while I was on top of a push-car (like the car from the Flintstones) and I fell off and cracked the back of my head open. This is how I got the small ‘diamond’ bald spot on the back of my head.
