• Does Productboard do Now-Next-Later roadmaps?

  Well, not in the true sense. They have interpreted the Now-Next-Later roadmap as literally just adding Now-Next-Later headings on a three column view of a feature list. They even refer to it as a ‘feature board’. It’s just a board of features.

  The Now-Next-Later framework calls for the time horizon view AND roadmap items that are focused at a higher level, at the Initiative level (instead of feature-level as shown by Productboard) and to have those Initiatives (problem/opportunity level) tied back to Objectives (the ‘why’).
  Productboard just has a list of features, under the headers Now-Next-Later, and lacks the hierarchy necessary to declare problems-to-solve on your roadmap, with the flexibility to explore and test different feature ideas beneath that. Productboard’s interpretation of a Now-Next-Later will not help you to work in a lean way and stay outcome-focused.

• Does Productboard have OKR management?

  With Productboard you can add high level Objectives, but you cannot set Key Results or specific goals underneath those with targets and metrics. With ProdPad you’ll have a full OKR management tool that allows you to assign Objectives at all levels of your product organization – at portfolio level, product line level and the individual products themselves. For each Objective you can set an unlimited number of Key Results. Our AI Assistance can even generate these KRs for you based on your Objective and the knowledge it has of your Product, Strategy and more. Once you have your OKRs established you can associate each and every Roadmap Initiative with the Objective it aims to answer and then view each Roadmap grouped by Objective.

• Do you get free and unlimited contributor/reviewer accounts with both Productboard and ProdPad?

  With ProdPad, no matter the package or price, you will always get free and unlimited Reviewer accounts. Those Reviewer users can add and edit their own Feedback, and can view and comment on those added by others. But it’s not just Feedback that Reviewers can create. With ProdPad, your free users can also create Ideas – whether they do that in ProdPad itself, or send it via Slack or any of the other integrations. This not only helps you foster organization-wide engagement with the product strategy, but it also gives you a useful outlet to direct people to when they have product ideas. This means you spend less time fielding different ideas from different stakeholders as they come in – you can simply direct those stakeholders to ProdPad and inform them that their idea is now in your backlog and will be reviewed during your backlog refinement.

  With Productboard the free Contributors can submit Feedback insights but cannot create Ideas. This prevents you from letting anyone in your organization submit product ideas to the team.

• How does the pricing compare between Productboard and ProdPad?

  Firstly, Productboard’s AI features are only available at an additional cost, no matter what plan level you purchase. With ProdPad, all our AI tools come as standard across all our packages, no matter the level.

  ProdPad’s pricing is modular, meaning you only pay for the features you need. You can mix and match basic versions of some modules, with the more advanced plans of others. This gives you the flexibility to build the perfect plan for your team and needs.

  With Productboard you’ll need to speak to them about Enterprise pricing in order to get your hands on the majority of their features. Customer success support and onboarding is also only available for the highest paying customers. With ProdPad we support all our customers, at all levels – real humans available to offer guidance and advice whenever you need it.
